You can make an appointment by calling 07719987520
or emailing sue_cowley@hotmail.com
or by requesting an appointment on the button above.
If Sue is seeing patients and cannot answer your call, please leave a message, and they will return your call as soon as possible.
For your initial appointment, you will need to book a 55-minute slot. Even if you’ve seen the physiotherapist before, you’ll still need to book a 55-minute slot initially so that a full assessment can be carried out. This allows for a comprehensive assessment.
Subsequent appointments will be 25 minutes each.
An introductory email will be sent to you, confirming the appointment time and attaching information about attending the clinic and relevant consent forms.
Please let the clinic know before your appointment so we can accommodate your needs.
There is a small step into the clinic.
Reception cover is available between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday to Friday.
During your first appointment, your details will be recorded, and a detailed assessment will be performed. This assessment consists of two parts:
1. History Assessment: You’ll discuss your condition and past medical history to ensure that treatment doesn’t adversely affect any other conditions you may have.
2. Objective Tests: These tests may require you to remove some clothing. Wearing or bringing loose-fitting clothing or shorts can be helpful.
The assessment helps diagnose your condition, plan treatment, and set recovery goals.
Please bring your completed consent form, which is attached to your introductory email. The consent form serves several purposes:
• It confirms your understanding of the cancellation and privacy statement/policy.
• It specifies your preferences for data sharing.
• It indicates your agreement to pay for private physiotherapy treatment.
If you don’t have access to a printer, there will be copies of the consent form available for you to sign at your initial appointment.
Wearing or bringing loose-fitting clothing or shorts can be helpful.
Payment can be made by cash or cheque. Unfortunately, there is no card machine for self-funding clients, but BACs details can be provided.
The fees are £60 for the initial assessment and £50 for follow-up appointments. Homevisits and specialised dizziness /vertigo assessments are £75 each visit.
If you’re using insurance, have your insurance details ready. It’s advisable to check with your insurers before treatment begins.
Yes, there is parking available. You can park in the space in front of the garage or in the layby down the road. Please be mindful not to block any other cars.
Unfortunately, there is no waiting room. However, to accommodate any occasional delays, there is a gap between appointments. Please wait in your car until your appointment time, and the physiotherapist will call you in from the gate on your left.
Yes, there are toilet facilities on the ground floor next to the clinic room.
The following equipment can be loaned out to assist your treatment regime:
• Wobble board
• TENS machine
• Muscle stimulation machine
• Ankle weights
These items are free of charge.
Yes, there will be a small charge of £1 for strapping materials, electrode pads, or exercise bands used during treatment.
If you need to buy any equipment, supports or strapping, the physiotherapist will advise you where and what to buy.
Yes, exercises and advice sheets can be sent to you by email or photocopied for you.
Exercises have a description and a picture and video to remind you how to do the exercise.
You undertake to pay Sue Cowley for the service/treatment as a private physiotherapy patient. This statement will be included in the consent form attached to your introductory email.
If you’re using medical insurance, check with your insurers to establish the level of cover on your policy before treatment commences.
EffectivePhysio will seek payment from your insurer or third-party funder. If payment has not been made for any treatment (in part or whole), you will be held responsible for the outstanding balance.
The clinic reserves the right to recover any unpaid sums, including any cost of recovery.
Clients must cancel an appointment 48 hours or more before the scheduled time. Failure to attend or late cancellations (within 48 hours) will result in a charge of the full treatment cost.
Insurance companies typically do not cover the cost of failures to attend or cancellations, hence clients will be asked to pay the outstanding balance.
All physiotherapists adhere to the Health Care Professionals Council and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy’s code of conduct, ensuring confidentiality. EffectivePhysio also has a certificate for data protection from ICO (the Information Commissioner’s Office).
You will be asked to sign the consent form attached to your introductory email, indicating your understanding of the cancellation policy and granting consent for information sharing when writing reports to outside agencies.
The privacy policy is found at the bottom of the website pages and will also be sent attached to the introductory email.
